Same message.
On a whim, I tried to install GIMP on another Windows 10 computer and it installed and worked without any problem. It would now seem that there is a problem of some sort on the first computer that is preventing the installation of GIMP. While I am curious, I do not know enough about Windows 10 to try to fix it. I upgraded to the latest portable version of gimp 2.10.8 yesterday. However the program will not start at all. i click on the start menu item ( or even execute the exec directly ) and nothing happens. i even did a fresh install and still nothing. 2.10. works ok i still have it on another usb.
